A simply lovely Unheated 3.01ct Burma Ruby from the famed gem mines of Mogok in Burma (Myanmar). The colour of this magnificent gemstone is an almost pure hue of red, often referred to as a ‘traffic light’ hue - absolutely beautiful and absolutely typically Burmese. Bear in mind that the light in Chicago, as an example, may not be so bright as it is in Bangkok ! The first pics have been taken in bright daylight type lighting. Clarity is decent but not excellent for the gem genre, with the gem being clearly included, but this is a bright and vibrant stone, as evidenced in the pics, and quite possibly eye clean to all but the most eagle eyed. In fac tot my ageing eyes the gem is almost but not quite eye clean, with some inclusions visible under magnification, and the overall clarity grade for an unheated Burma ruby is extremely good , and this is a transparent gem as per the GIA certificate. Note however that we are using a macro lens and this is barely visible with the naked eye. Also note that the stone has had minor clarity enhancement ('an orange foreign material is present in surface reaching fractures') though it is not heated - the crucial issue. Lustre and brilliancy are both extremely good and this is an extremely vibrant gem indeed. The diamonds total 0.36ct and are clean and white. The stone comes complete with a certificate from the world class GIA Laboratory confirming origin Burma, no heat, fracture filling as above (note that without this comment, this is a $100,000+ gem). Absolutely certain to appreciate in value as time goes by. Shipping Fedex or DHL
