An absolutely magnificent, absolutely gorgeoous unheated, untreated ruby from the famed gem mines of Mozambique weighing 2.03ct. This is really a superb shade of crimson red, exactly as Pigeon’s Blood ruby should be, a darker, deeply saturated hue, and fully certificated by one of the world’s most prestigious laboratories, absolutely beautiful! The stone is almost but not quite eye clean table up to all but the exceptionally eagle eyed. Under magnification there are indeed some inclusions visible, but such is the deep colour saturation in the stone that these are not obvious to the naked eye, either when the stone is loose or set. Lustre and brilliance are very good despite the strong colour saturation in the stone. We have used a sophisticated macro lens for these pics which will always tend to exaggerate any inclusions, which please note. Important: please see the photo of the stone mounted in a ring. This will show you the lustre in different lighting conditions. Inevitably, the stone will look less bright in dark/indoor/cloudy conditions than in daylight or particularly sunlight.
Cutting is excellent with no windowing in the stone.
It goes without saying that the stone is extremely vibrant with excellent life and brilliancy, transparent, and comes complete with a GRS certificate confirming no heat, the origin and, crucially, that the colour is indeed equivalent to the sought after Pigeon’s Blood hue.
